Teaching
in the Greater Hazleton Area.
All Levels!
I believe the best
approach to teaching drums is to generate interest by having the student
sitting behind the kit, teaching him/her to play realistic and
constructive beats and fills from the first lesson! As they progress
they'll learn how songs are constructed and musical form.
They’ll learn how to approach playing the intros, verses,
choruses, and endings of songs by playing along with music tracks. In
today's hi tech world I believe it is important to introduce the student
to basic audio and sound production techniques as well as the instrument
itself.
They’ll
also learn how to construct drum parts, when to crash, when to ride, and
when to fill. As they are
learning all these important aspects of playing drums, they’ll be
learning one of the most important aspects—reading notation!
The
rudimentary patterns will fit into the teaching plan in a musical way as
well as a technical way. Everything
necessary for becoming a drummer who is a well-versed musician is put into
a relaxed, fun-filled, yet disciplined context.
